An Inside Look at the Seafood Quick-Freeze Production Line

Jason Jiang

Hi, I’m Jason Jiang, the founder of AMF, after my graduation from university, I’ve been working in the iqf freezer industry for more than 18 years, concentrating on the research and design field.

Today, I would like to mainly introduce the quick-freeze equipment production line which is widely used in the quick-freezing process of seafood or aquatic products such as shrimps, fish, lobster, scallop, salmon, etc.

The First Step: Tunnel Freezer

Tunnel freezer is a simple structure, highly efficient freezing equipment.  The vertical airflow freezing method adopted ensures even air distribution, resulting in a more uniform crust and freezing. Food is loaded on the conveyor and into the freezing zone, where high-speed axial fans blow air through the evaporator vertically over the product surface.

The Second Step: Ice Glazing Machine

After tunnel freezer, we use ice glazing machine, let products coming out from tunnel freezer, which are less then-18℃, enter the ice glazing machine filled with 0 ℃ ice water. The ice water will be attached to the surface of the products.

The Third Step: Hardening Machine

The next step after the ice glazing machine is the hardening machine, it is a simple tunnel freezer in fact, we use the hardening machine to freeze the attached ice water. The water at 0 ℃ is attached to the surface of the product and integrated with the product through the hardening machine.

The return mesh belt of our hardening freezer is outside the library body, so that the ice on the mesh belt will melt by itself in the air and will not form ice particles. We have rich experience in this field, can offer free design to  customize the total production line according to your requirement.
